Dermal Fillers

Temporary dermal fillers are an instant way to a fresher, younger, smoother look.

Dermal fillers are clear gels which add volume to facial skin when injected in small quantities, instantly smoothing out lines & wrinkles and enhancing the lip line. They are a highly purified and slightly modified form of a naturally occurring substance (hyaluronic acid) which gives skin a fuller texture and allows it to retain water.

In order to minimise discomfort, injections are given following application of a local anaesthetic cream. The lip area is more sensitive and some people prefer to have a local anaesthetic injection prior to lip treatment. The improvement is immediate and most people will only experience a little redness and slight temporary swelling at the site of the injection. Any swelling will usually settle after a day or two. Swelling after lip treatment can last longer, sometimes up to a week.

These products contain no animal protein so the risk of reaction is minimal, and it is not necessary to undergo a test dose before treatment. These types of injection treatments have been in use since 1995 and have been shown to be extremely safe causing less than one reaction in 5000 - 8000 treatments

These treatments are not permanent and will have to be topped up if the effect is to be maintained. Depending on the area and type of treatment results can last for 6 or more months. Many clients will see the benefit for anything up to a year. The treatment can be repeated as often as you wish. Longer lasting results can be achieved on certain areas of the face if combined with Botox treatments.
